The Village – Series 2

The Village Series 2

The critically acclaimed TV drama is back for a highly anticipated second series set in the roaring twenties.

The Village S02E01It’s 1923. The Great War is over but what kind of England has won? Now in a world of boom and bust, motor cars and the Charleston, the twenties bring a blast of energy and freedom to the village; dance halls and jazz music are having their influence on the villager’s lives. As an election year divides and inspires, we will find the power of the woman’s vote has been sorely undervalued. That is until now, as the outside world continues to break down barriers, bringing with it big dramas and change.

The Village S02E04

Series 1 was nominated for three Television BAFTAs and is one not to be missed as the story of one Peak District village moves into the jazz age. The Village is seen through the prism of Bert Middleton’s eyes – the young man who never leaves the village but sees the world transform around him.
